POST HUMAN DANCE(2019-2022)

POST HUMAN DANCE(PhD) is a collective and event series run by me, creative technologist Erika Rustamova, sound artist Ossi Kolehmainen and 3D visualist Maisa Immonen. It is a medium for studying future scenarios through organizing events and creating audiovisual club experiences. It is a series of parties with a focus on modern hybrid club music and futurist visual aesthetics with elements of interactive new media.

POST HUMAN DANCE was created in the autumn of 2019 in response to lack of the events showcasing contemporary hybrid club music in Helsinki. List of the artists performing at various POST HUMAN DANCE events includes both local and international DJs and producers such as Comastasis, Desto, Apeak, Cute Cumber, Himera, exmantera, WULFFLUW XCIV, Anima, DJ G2G, Celes and many more.

Our projects include POST HUMAN DANCE URL and IRL events, PnD compilation “Wings of Ephemerida”, collaborative work with the project “Harriharrigame Episode 3” as well as audiovisual performances: PhD “Solar symphony” (Ääniaalto, 12.06.23) and PhD “Glacies Era” (Aavistus, 06.10.22)

URL FESTIVAL

POST HUMAN DANCE URL is an online audiovisual festival that took place in IMVU avatar chat 26.06.2020 21:00-02:00(UTC+02). The festival showcased an excerption of internet gen. producers and DJs around Europe in the surrealist venue designed by CGI artist Maisa Immonen. In total, we organized 3 POST HUMAN DANCE URL festivals, you can find the documentation of the first festival below and the documentation of the subsequent festivals on the POST HUMAN DANCE’s Instagram page (link to PHD’s IG in the bottom of the page).

WINGS OF EPHEMERIDA

PhD compilation “Wings of Ephemerida” is a slow listening xperience that was unlocked track by track in an 8 day time frame.

“A mayfly Ephemerida’s live is brief. It lasts only for a day, but no one would value this day as much as it would Ephemerida”.

POST HUMAN DANCE x HARRIHARRI

ADVENTURES OF HARRIHARRI - EPISODE 3

POST HUMAN DANCE was included in the third episode of video game performance Adventures of Harriharri.

According to the narrative of Episode III one of the characters Harri-Kala leads Harriharri through a HYPERPOP portal to a POST HUMAN DANCE rave where Harriharri finds a diverse and inclusive and futuristic community that evokes a hopeful vision of a future in Finland (based on a true story).
Adventures on Harriharri Episode III premiered on 19.05.22 at Helsinki City Theatre.
