WELCOME TO MY WWW
I am Erika Rustamova, a Master of Arts in New Media,
creative technologist and virtual performance artist based in Helsinki,
Finland.
My artistic practice unfolds at the intersection of world-building, virtual performance,
and digital scenography. I have work experience in artistic direction, AV art, live
visuals, 3D design and animation,
as well as
real-time VFX and motion
capture. I am currently doing a second Master's Degree in Set Design for Contemporary Performance at Helsinki Theatre Academy.
Besides my career in the field of creative technologies I am a DJ(aka heartstyle cheerleader), guest curator at night club Ääniwalli, resident of “BIG $EXXY BASS” event series(2024-2025), a member of Helsinki based music collective “SURREXIS”(2021-2024), and a founding member of audiovisual art platform “POST HUMAN DANCE”(2019-2022). I am very passionate about music, and majority of the projects that you will find on this desktop are in one way or another related to music.
This website emulates my desktop as for a person who works closely with computer media and emerging technologies, it feels only natural to present my work in this way.
